The Mennie Family has had a great interest in horses for many years. Father William had grown up with horses at his side, and passed his love for them onto his sons Larry and Lloyd. In 1956 William bought Larry's first pony, and it was shown at the Brandon Winter Fair in 1957, and so the tradition began. Since that time many horses have passed through the hands of the family.
Lloyd became interested in 1967 with his first pony a Hackney, Sunnysides Creation.
From that time on Hackney Ponies had settled in the hearts of the Mennie's. 1976 found them purchasing an acreage, and building a stable for the ponies. Previous to this they kept their horses and ponies at public boarding stables. Now they had their own place, they could have more ponies, raise some of their own, and even have the privilage of building their own houses on the acreage.
Lloyd and Barb have passed on their passion of horses to their sons Marc and Dallas. They all have had a keen interest in the horse world. Barbara had a love for Appaloosa's and the acreage has not gone with out a few of these as well.
Clearview Acres has not only seen Hackney Ponies or Appaloosa's they have also owned and shown other breeds as well. Amongst these are American Saddlebred, Miniature Draft, Shetlands, Morgans , Welsh, Hackney Horse.
